IFC/Panhellenic Pennsylvania State Dance Marathon (THON)
- THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world. Starting in October each year, 15,000 Penn State students begin fund-raising for The Four Diamonds Fund - a fund that helps families stricken with pediatric cancer. Fund-raising culminates in February with a 46 hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon at the Bryce Jordan Center. I have been involved with THON since I was a freshman, and continue to be involved to this day.
- My freshman and sophomore year I was involved in a Rules and Regulations Committee, which provides security to the Bryce Jordan Center THON Weekend. I also became involved with an independent fund-raising organization, Ohana, my sophomore year as well.
- My junior year I held the position of Ohana Family Facilitator (OFF) within the Ohana organization. I acted as a captain within the organization who encouraged members to stay involved and help fund-raise for THON.
- This year, my senior year, I am on the Executive Team of Ohana, in the position of Administrative Assistant. I am responsible for taking meeting minutes, organizing and choosing the Family Facilitators, as well as helping any other Executive Team member when they need it.
Pre-Dental Society
- Because I am interested in dental school, I joined the Pre-Dental Society.
- Topics of meetings of the Pre-Dental Society consisted of dental school admissions advice, help with writing a personal statement, preparation for taking the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) among other things.
- Opportunities to visit different dental schools such as Temple Dental School and the University of Pittsburgh Dental School were also given through this club.
